TOWNE CENTRE CHAPTER

Towne Centre Chapter Success Stories

Not only is it great to give and receive referrals in your own chapter, but the true power of networking is unleashed when you start developing relationships with other members in other chapters. My last four clients have resulted from getting referrals from members in other chapters (North Outerbelt and Polaris Chapters).

It may take a bit longer to build rapport with members from other chapters, but if you're consistent in getting out to area wide functions (MORE Meetings) and the Leadership Conference you will find more people who can benefit from your services and you have a larger network to refer people to as well. It really is all about KNOW, LIKE, and TRUST!

Visiting other chapters can really expand your network.

I met Robert Sparrow at the North Columbus chapter meeting a few months ago. He impressed me as an honest, interesting person, and a skilled craftsman. Plus, he has a cool accent. I recommended him to Shawn Cromartie of MSC Construction in our chapter. Shawn was impressed enough that he put Robert to work on a project.

A short time later, I had a leak in my front windows. Robert stopped by, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it in short order. This was a problem I had been wrestling with for a year. I plan to use him on some other projects around our home in the future.

As a dedicated member of AmSpirit Business Connections I have had great success in growing my business through networking. Throughout the years, qualified referrals have contributed between 30% to 50% of my annual income.

I love having other like-minded professionals to whom I can refer my clients. It's a great way to stay in touch with my clients and be of service to them.

Acting as a resource for other people can be very rewarding. Just last week a client mentioned during a meeting that she needed to purchase a new printer. Gary Smith and I both immediately mentioned that she needed to get in touch with Jeff Rosenberg of US Laser. Jeff's office was within a mile of her location so it made it even easier to make that connection.

Later that same day I spoke to Dave Tedford, a member of my chapter who recently had been in a car accident. I referred Dave to Rife's Autobody and Jon McKnight, a member from another chapter but still in AmSpirit. Dave was grateful for the referral as was Jon.

I often visit other Amspirit chapters, and after the experience I'm going to talk about, you will too.

I visited the North Columbus Chapter about a month ago. During the meeting, the chapter's attorney, Stephen DeWeese, gave me a referral. He had a client who was agonizing over renaming and rebranding her company. He thought I could help.

After Steve introduced us by e-mail, I met with her. We discussed options, did some planning and now we're working on rebranding her company. I would never have been on Steve's radar if I had not gone to that meeting on that day. It's the power of networking.

Tom Anderson, President of Excelleweb, saw an opportunity to get my advertising company involved on a project. His client needed a complete website and a new corporate look to their logotype and sales material as well. Tom knew that a new identity and color scheme needed to be developed prior to turning his designers loose on the new website.

Tom did a great service for us by teeing up our abilities at the initial meeting. We submitted our proposal and it was accepted. We are partnering with  Excelleweb to develop the new company logo and identity package, and coordinate its use in the website.

I really appreciate Tom and the power of his referral. It made the sale of a project to a new client easy. And usually, it's never easy! Thanks to Tom for this referral, which turned into a very nice project, and I hope to return the favor.

I'd like to also mention the same project Gary referenced above. I've been in contact with this law firm over the last four years. They subscribe to my monthly email newsletter. When I met with my contact at the law firm, it became apparent early on they could also benefit from Gary Smith's services.

The meeting began with the notion that I would be one of several firms they were considering. But when they realized that I could bring many other resources to the table (advertising, branding, printing, photography, etc.) it set me apart from the competition. By the end of the meeting they requested that I send them a contract to approve.

Gary and I are now in the process of branding the firm and building a completely new web site.

Member presentations really pay off!!  After Dr. Laura Skaates made her presentation on her chiropractic business, I decided to take her up on her invitation for an assessment.  I met w/ Laura and was very impressed by her office operations, her knowledge of her business and felt strongly enough that I switched chiropractors that week.  I have been going to Laura for a couple weeks now and only have positive things to say about my experience.  If you have any kind of neck or back issues, you should try her out – you will be glad you did!
